Sharon Van Etten<\/a> turned up the intensity of her single \u201cComeback Kid\u201d during her performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/em> on Monday. Backed by her four-piece band and bathed in warm red and yellow lighting, the singer took a more blistering, gritty approach than on the recorded version<\/a> of the tune.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey, you\u2019re the comeback kid\/See me look away,\u201d she sang, gesticulating throughout the performance, which added to the song\u2019s dramatic sway. \u201cI\u2019m the runaway\/I\u2019m the stay out late\/I\u2019m recovering.\u201d<\/p>\n

The song appears on the singer\u2019s fifth LP, Remind Me Tomorrow<\/em><\/a>, which was released in January and also includes the track \u201cJupiter 4<\/a>.\u201d Her late-night Monday appearance follows last month\u2019s daytime TV performance of album track \u201cSeventeen\u201d on Ellen<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

This weekend, Van Etten returns to the screen to reprise her role as Rachel in Season Two of Netflix mystery drama The OA<\/em><\/a>, which premieres on Friday.<\/p>\n
