Barbra Streisand<\/a> has drawn criticism for comments the singer made about the two men<\/a> who accused Michael Jackson<\/a> of sexual abuse in the documentary Leaving Neverland<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the Times UK<\/em><\/a> ahead of her London concerts this summer, Streisand said she \u201cabsolutely\u201d believed the accounts of Wade Robson and James Safechuck, but added, \u201cYou can say \u2018molested\u2019, but those children, as you heard say, they were thrilled to be there. They both married and they both have children, so it didn\u2019t kill them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Streisand also said that when she met Jackson, the King of Pop \u201cwas very sweet, very childlike,\u201d and that she had turned down a duet on Bad<\/em>\u2018s \u201cI Just Can\u2019t Stop Loving You.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHis sexual needs were his sexual needs, coming from whatever childhood he has or whatever DNA he has,\u201d Streisand said of Jackson. \u201cI feel bad for the children. I feel bad for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Like many others<\/a>, Streisand blamed the parents of Safechuck and Robson for enabling their sons\u2019 abuse. \u201cI blame, I guess, the parents, who would allow their children to sleep with him,\u201d Streisand said. \u201cWhy would Michael need these little children dressed like him and in the shows and the dancing and the hats?\u201d<\/p>\n

Streisand\u2019s remarks were swiftly met with criticism on social media, with even Leaving Neverland<\/em> director Dan Reed perplexed by the singer\u2019s comments. \u201c\u2018It didn\u2019t kill them\u2019 @barbrastreisand did you really say that?!,\u201d Reed tweeted<\/a>. \u201c\u2018His sexual needs were his sexual needs\u2019 \u2013 is pedophilia tolerated in parts of the entertainment industry?\u201d<\/p>\n
