If it isn\u2019t clear who she\u2019s singing about, her label has placed an image of the White House as the image for the lyric video. Throughout the rest of the song, she sings about how Trump\u2019s words freeze hearts, shatter dreams and undo lives. It\u2019s a hard-rocking takedown, in the vein of PJ Harvey or Patti Smith, thanks in part to Buck\u2019s soaring guitars. The track will appear on <em>Emerald Valley<\/em>, the supergroup\u2019s upcoming second album, out May 3rd.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first record was kind of put together on the fly, using time I booked to do my solo albums,\u201d Buck told <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/rem-sleater-kinney-supergroups-new-song-791526\/\">Rolling Stone<\/a><\/em> earlier this year. \u201cOnce we toured and figured out what we were capable of, we really tried to stretch out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no set rules of how we write together,\u201d Tucker said. \u201cI love that Peter is always totally open to trying different ideas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The record contains many songs about current events and social themes. Tucker drew inspiration from Eugene, Oregon \u2013 the \u201cEmerald Valley\u201d \u2013 where she grew up and tried to put it into words. \u201cOne Flew East,\u201d she said, was about gentrification, while \u201cPipeline\u201d takes on the oil industry. Last month, they released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/rem-sleater-kinney-supergroups-new-song-791526\/\">\u201cLast Chance County,\u201d<\/a> which drew on Tucker\u2019s growing-up years. \u201cIt\u2019s about a teenage girl riding the bus through a depressed Northwest town in the 1980s, a version of myself and the frustration I saw there,\u201d she said. \u201cRiding the bus to work, I saw people struggling to make ends meet and make sense of their lives.
