British art-rock band Roxy Music<\/a> reunited as they were welcomed into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame<\/a> at the Class of 2019\u2019s induction ceremony at Brooklyn\u2019s Barclays Center. Frontman Bryan Ferry<\/a>, guitarist Phil Manzanera and saxophonist Andy Mackay were joined by a band and backup singers and kicked things off with For Your Pleasure\u2019s<\/em> \u201cIn Every Home a Heartache,\u201d looking like shadows, as they were washed in white white lights. The keyboard wormed its way around Ferry\u2019s voice until things kicked into a psychedelic spectacle.<\/p>\n

They played a charging rendition of Country Life\u2019s<\/em> \u201cOut of the Blue\u201d with Ferry duetting with Mackay\u2019s oboe and an electric violin. They followed that with shortened versions of their Siren<\/em> single \u201cLove Is the Drug\u201d and their biggest hit, Avalon\u2019s<\/em> \u201cMore Than This.\u201d On \u201cAvalon,\u201d Ferry slowed things down, playing keys and crooning into the mic as the band settled into an easy vibe. Ferry stood back up again and led the band through a sax-blaring rendition of For Your Pleasure\u2019s<\/em> \u201cEditions of You.\u201d As the audience cheered, the band waved and smiled before they left the stage.<\/p>\n

The performance marked Bryan Ferry\u2019s first time playing alongside his Roxy Music bandmates since 2011. The group\u2019s drummer Paul Thompson and keyboardist Brian Eno<\/a>, both inducted along with their bandmates, skipped the ceremony due to previous commitments.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>, Mackay admitted he didn\u2019t think Roxy Music would be voted into the Rock Hall. \u201cI always felt that we were a little too far out there for the general public in America even though we have a strong following in some pockets over there,\u201d he said. \u201cIt was very surprising to hear.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mackay added that the Rock Hall performance could, potentially, serve as a springboard for a Roxy Music reunion.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a possibility. We have never actually advertised a farewell tour except in 1975. While we\u2019re all still playing it\u2019s always a possibility. Who knows? It\u2019s been quite a long time now we haven\u2019t played together. Maybe we\u2019d find it a bit strange,\u201d the saxophonist said. \u201cMaybe the Hall of Fame is the thing that will make us think about it.\u201d<\/p>\n
