Avicii<\/a>\u2019s family and collaborators have revealed that the late EDM star\u2019s first posthumous LP, Tim<\/em>, will arrive this summer. A single titled \u201cS.O.S.\u201d that features Aloe Blacc on vocals will precede the album, the New York Times<\/em> reports<\/a>; Blacc also sang on Avicii\u2019s 2013 hit \u201cWake Me Up.\u201d \u201cS.O.S.\u201d is out April 10th.<\/p>\n

Tim<\/em>, which takes its name from Avicii\u2019s birth name Tim Bergling, boasts music that Avicii was working on in the final three months of his life; Bergling died by suicide<\/a> in Muscat, Oman in April 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was trying to produce through someone else\u2019s eyes and ears \u2014 someone who\u2019s not here,\u201d producer Carl Falk told the New York Times<\/em> of Tim<\/em>. \u201cIt was really hard not to criticize yourself the whole time. Would he like this? What would he have done?\u201d<\/p>\n

The songs on Tim<\/em> were \u201c75 to 80 percent done\u201d at the time of Avicii\u2019s death. \u201cHe left behind a collection of nearly finished songs, along with notes, email conversations and text messages about the music,\u201d Avicii\u2019s team said in a statement.<\/p>\n

In addition to Blacc, Avicii collaborators like Kristoffer Fogelmark, Albin Nedler, Salem Al Fakir and Vincent Pontare worked on the album, as did Coldplay\u2019s Chris Martin, who provides vocals on the leaked song \u201cHeaven.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe album felt coherent and personal,\u201d Johnny Tennander, Avicii\u2019s publisher at Sony\/ATV, said of Tim<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The New York Times<\/em> articles also includes the first interview with Avicii\u2019s father Klas Bergling since his son\u2019s suicide, a word that the family is finally coming to terms with.<\/p>\n

\u201cI use the word as often as I remember to use it. I have to get used to the word,\u201d Klas Bergling said; he declined to tell the Times the circumstances of how his son died. \u201cThere is no letter\u2026 Nothing points in the direction that he was planning it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Avicii\u2019s family launched a foundation<\/a> to address mental health and suicide prevention. \u201cAvicii\u2019s net proceeds from the album will go to the nonprofit Tim Bergling Foundation and the purposes it will work for,\u201d Avicii\u2019s team added.<\/p>\n
