Wednesday, Craig Miller was found not guilty of menacing.<\/strong><br \/><em>Randy Wyrick \/ Vail Daily<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>EAGLE \u2014 A jury found Craig Miller not guilty Wednesday of menacing his neighbors after he felt they interfered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/news\/breaking-news-suspects-in-lake-christine-fire-turn-themselves-in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"with his son\u2019s arrest (opens in a new tab)\">with his son\u2019s arrest<\/a> in July for allegedly starting the Lake Christine Fire.<\/p>\n<p>The jury deliberated for about 80 minutes in the Eagle County Courthouse in Eagle before reaching the verdict. Craig Miller was charged with intent to commit second-degree burglary, a felony and misdemeanor charges of menacing and criminal trespass.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m going to suggest there isn\u2019t any doubt in this case,\u201d Chief Deputy District Attorney Joe Kirwan told the jury in closing arguments.<\/p>\n<p>Defense attorney Michael Fox saw it differently. He characterized the case as one of \u201cmiscommunication, misinformation and missing evidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis case is missing evidence and it\u2019s missing evidence because the police didn\u2019t see it,\u201d Fox said. \u201cIt didn\u2019t exist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Miller\u2019s son, Richard, and Allison Marcus are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/news\/breaking-wildfire-breaks-out-near-basalt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"suspected of starting the Lake Christine Fire on July 3, 2018, near Basalt (opens in a new tab)\">suspected of starting the Lake Christine Fire on July 3, 2018, near Basalt<\/a>.
