The Irish songwriter recruited Mavis Staples and Booker T. Jones and paid tribute to Nina Simone, while doing his best to block out commercial expectations&nbsp; \u201cMy head was spinning,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/hozier-on-how-political-insanity-nina-simones-example-fueled-his-new-music-714478\/\">told Rolling Stone of his early success<\/a>. \u201cIt took a long time for me to even make sense of it all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hozier shared the video for one of the songs from that album \u201cAlmost (Sweet Music),\u201d which he described as a visual ode to the jazz era that inspired the song (the lyrics reference Duke Ellington, John Coltrane and more.)
