Produced by Tommy Henriksen, the 16-track set features new single, \u201cWho\u2019s Laughing Now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the lyric video for their new song, imagery from previous live outings is interspersed with dark, animated illustrations. The theme of vindication pervades the lyrics that unfold over churning riffs: \u201cAll the things you don\u2019t say\/The gift of truth pushed me away\/All the things you did say\/Never mattered anyway\/Ha, ha, ha, ha\/Who\u2019s laughing now, man?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The follow-up to their 2015 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/hollywood-vampires-125055\/\">self-titled debut<\/a>, <em>Rise<\/em> houses primarily original material featuring contributions from each band member, with the exception of three cover songs. Depp fronts their rendition of David Bowie\u2019s \u201cHeroes,\u201d Perry sings Johnny Thunder\u2019s \u201cYou Can\u2019t Put Your Arms Around a Memory\u201d and they also cover Jim Carroll Band\u2019s \u201cPeople Who Died.\u201d The set also includes guests Jeff Beck and John Waters on \u201cWelcome to Bushwackers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Rise<\/em> is not only a totally different animal than the first Vampires album, it is unique to anything I\u2019ve ever been a part of,\u201d Cooper said in a statement. \u201cI approached it very differently than I usually do when working on an album.&nbsp;Each of us; Joe, Johnny, Tommy and myself have written songs on this album. What is different though is that I didn\u2019t try to change any songs to be more \u2018Alice-like.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause each of us has different influences, the sound of this album is very cool,\u201d Cooper continued. \u201cI think that with this album, we are establishing what the Vampires\u2019 sound really is, whereas with the first album we were more tipping our hats to our fallen rock &amp; roll brothers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Rise<\/em> came from pure creative energy, which is just like playing live with the Vampires. The record showcases everyone doing what they do best without anyone looking over our shoulders,\u201d Perry added in a statement. \u201cThere was no pressure or deadlines, allowing us to write and record an album that is one of the freest and most honest sounding records I\u2019ve been part of. I can\u2019t wait to perform some of these tunes live for our fans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Rise<\/em> is <a href=\"https:\/\/ear-music.shop\/index.php?page=products&amp;section=Hollywood+Vampires\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">available for pre-order<\/a> and comes in various versions, including limited edition vinyl and box set offerings.
