If Blink-182<\/strong> is included within your online security, you might want to think about changing that quickly!<\/p>\n

According to a study by the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre, the world’s most hacked passwords included the likes of ‘password’, ‘qwerty’, and ‘123456’ <\/p>\n

But surprisingly, included in that list, was the fictional character ‘superman’, and ‘blink182<\/strong>‘, which topped the most commonly hacked passwords featuring a musical artist.<\/p>\n

In response, bassist Mark Hoppus quote tweeted the article with a disapproving ‘you guys’, whilst drummer Travis Barker commented a shrug emoji… <\/p>\n

In an article on CNN<\/a>, the NCSC Technical Director, Ian Levy, said that “Password re-use is a major risk that can be avoided — nobody should protect sensitive data with something that can be guessed, like their first name, local football team or favorite band,”<\/em><\/p>\n

“Using hard-to-guess passwords is a strong first step and we recommend combining three random but memorable words. Be creative and use words memorable to you, so people can’t guess your password,” <\/em>he continued.<\/p>\n

So maybe next time when thinking of a password for an online account, maybe use one of the band’s songs instead, especially if it’s an obscure one?<\/p>\n
