BBC Radio 3\u2019s \u201cUnclassified\u201d offered the radio premiere of two new Thom Yorke<\/a> songs, \u201cDon\u2019t Fear the Light\u201d and \u201cGawpers,\u201d which the singer recently played live in Paris. \u201cDon\u2019t Fear the Light\u201d is a classical piece, arranged to be played by two pianos, electronics and modular synthesizer. The musician tapped French piano duo Katia and Marielle Labeque to perform the piece.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t Fear the Light\u201d plays at the 27:00 mark and \u201cGawpers\u201d at 47:20 on the radio program<\/a>, which also features tracks by David Chalmin and Bryce Dessner, both part of the Minimalist Dream House show.<\/p>\n

Both original songs were debuted in concert on April during Yorke\u2019s \u201cMinimalist Dream House\u201d performance at the Philharmonie de Paris. Yorke has performed \u201cGawpers\u201d several times on tour, but neither has bee available to hear in full previously. These new tracks follow Yorke\u2019s soundtrack<\/a> for the recent Suspiria<\/em> remake, the musician\u2019s first classical composition effort. The singer plans to release<\/a> a new solo album this year.<\/p>\n

Radiohead<\/a> were recently inducted<\/a> into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but Yorke declined to attend. He told Variety<\/em><\/a> of the honor, \u201cWe\u2019ve had it explained to us, so it\u2019s cool. But we don\u2019t really understand it as English people. I think our problem is essentially that every awards ceremony in the UK stinks. We grew up with the Brits, which is like this sort of drunken car crash that you don\u2019t want to get involved with. So, yeah, we don\u2019t really know what to make of it.\u201d<\/p>\n
