British synth-pop outfit Bastille<\/a> find euphoria in the dawn of a new day after a long night on their new song, \u201cJoy,\u201d from their forthcoming album, Doom Days<\/em> out June 14th via Virgin Records.<\/p>\n

Doom Days<\/em> is set over the course of a single night and \u201ctakes the listener on a big night out in search of distraction form the surrounding apocalypse.\u201d As the album\u2019s closer, \u201cJoy\u201d doesn\u2019t portray the morning after in a foggy daze, but rather captures the still-lingering thrill and the hangover-killing cure of a phone call. \u201cOh joy, when you call me,\u201d frontman Dan Smith sings. \u201cI was giving up, I was giving in\/Joy, set my mind free\/I was giving up, I was giving in\/How\u2019d you always know when I\u2019m down?\u201d<\/p>\n

In a statement, Smith added, \u201cThat glimmer of hope at the end of the album says everything. The smallest human gesture can pull you back from the brink.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cJoy\u201d follows the previously released Doom Days<\/em> title track<\/a> and \u201cQuarter Past Midnight,\u201d<\/a> which was released last May. Doom Days,<\/em> which is available to pre-order<\/a>, marks Bastille\u2019s third album, following 2016\u2019s Wild World<\/em><\/a>. The band recorded the new LP at their studio, One Eyed Jack\u2019s, in South London.<\/p>\n

Bastille also announced a North American tour in support of Doom Days<\/em>, which will launch September 16th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and wrap October 29th in Mexico City, Mexico. Tickets for most shows will go on sale May 10th at 10 a.m. local time, though complete information is available on Bastille\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n
