Grohl replied, \u201cNow I am.\u201d Despite no rehearsals or any advanced notice, Grohl didn\u2019t miss a beat as he ripped through the two songs with a backing band that also featured Ricky Warwick, Robbie Crane and Buckcherry\u2019s Keith Nelson.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_Dy_Bia8FZY?version=3&amp;enablejsapi=1&amp;origin=https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI am here on this beautiful day in Encino [because] everybody loves Ronnie James Dio,\u201d Grohl said at the event. \u201cHe was my neighbor actually; we lived down the street from each other. I encourage everybody to come out and support the cause, because it\u2019s a beautiful day with a bunch of beautiful people and we hope to see you next year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Ride for Ronnie launched in 2015 to raise awareness and money for the <a href=\"http:\/\/diocancerfund.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/metal-icon-ronnie-james-dio-dead-at-67-after-cancer-battle-94545\/\">Dio died<\/a> from stomach cancer in 2010). The event includes a giant motorcycle ride that starts in Glendale, California and ends at Los Encinos Park, where the concert was held. Last year, Ride for Ronnie raised $50,000 for the Dio for Cancer Fund.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Radio and TV host Eddie Trunk <a href=\"http:\/\/diocancerfund.org\/events\/RideForRonnie_2019.asp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">hosted the event<\/a> and corralled an array of musicians to perform as Eddie Trunk\u2019s All-Star Band.
