With her lyrics, Bareilles captures the aspects of parenthood that may often appear to be quotidian but can also be seen as tiny acts of love. \u201cI see what she can\u2019t see,\u201d Bareilles sings, \u201cHer light only ever landed on me\/But there\u2019s a glimmer in her brown eyes\/The ones she gave to me\/So I know we can both be shiny.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">On <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SaraBareilles\/status\/1126698878374416384?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Twitter<\/a>, Bareilles wrote of the song, \u201cIn honor of Mother\u2019s Day this weekend, I\u2019m sharing my new song \u2018Shiny.\u2019 It\u2019s about wanting moms to see how special they really are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cShiny\u201d arrives on the heels of Bareilles\u2019 new album, <em>Amidst the Chaos<\/em>, which was released in April.
