I feel like that\u2019s what makes her so special.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ora had never covered Mitchell\u2019s \u201cBig Yellow Taxi\u201d until she recorded it at Spotify Studios in New York, but it\u2019s often a song she sings with her friends when drunk. \u201cI pick up a guitar, play the song and I just sing from the top of my lungs,\u201d she says, admitting she\u2019s not very good at guitar. \u201cThat\u2019s when you know a record\u2019s a smash, when you\u2019re wasted and you like, play that song immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018Big Yellow Taxi\u2019 is a perfect song,\u201d Ora says of Mitchell\u2019s 1970 classic. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t really have a lot going on.\u201d The singer went on to admire the simple, stripped-down arrangement\u2014comprised of Mitchell\u2019s voice and guitar\u2014and the environmental theme of the track. \u201cObviously lyrically, she\u2019s a genius,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not really a theme type of record,\u201d Ora surmises. \u201cIt\u2019s got folk, pop, rock, jazz\u2026her whole inspiration hasn\u2019t been stuck to one genre.
