Spillers, which bills itself as \u201cthe oldest record shop in the world,\u201d in Cardiff, Wales has announced it can no longer support the former Smiths\u2019 frontman, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/whats-on\/music-nightlife-news\/morrissey-smiths-record-shop-banned-16313914\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><em>Wales Online<\/em><\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m saddened but ultimately not surprised that Spillers is unable to stock Morrissey\u2019s releases any longer,\u201d Spillers owner Ashli Todd told <em>Wales Online.<\/em> \u201cI only wished I\u2019d done it sooner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Morrissey wore a For Britain pin during his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/watch-morrissey-perform-morning-starship-fallon-835107\/\">appearance on <em>The Tonight Show<\/em><\/a>, where he performed his version of Jobriath\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/morrissey-grizzly-bear-ed-droste-jobriath-morning-starship-cover-listen-811040\/\">Morning Starship<\/a>.\u201d Anti-Islam activist Anne Marie Waters founded the far-right UK political party For Britain. Following Morrissey\u2019s <em>Tonight Show<\/em> stint, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3IsJ2Wkaa1g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Waters thanked Morrissey<\/a> for his support via a YouTube video.<\/p>\n<p>Morrissey has always been one to share his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/morrisseys-15-most-outrageous-quotes-198156\/\">often-caustic and divisive views<\/a>, from demeaning fellow artists to spouting bigotry and racist remarks. In 2010, while discussing animal cruelty in China he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/music\/2010\/sep\/03\/morrissey-simon-armitage-interview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">told <em>The Guardian<\/em><\/a>, \u201cYou can\u2019t help but feel the Chinese people are a subspecies.
