Here&#8217;s a taste of what he had to say.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT WAS IT THAT MADE THIS FEEL LIKE THE RIGHT TIME AND THE RIGHT SONG?<\/strong><br \/><em>&#8220;With having the song hanging around for a pretty long time and everybody liking the riff, it was just all about building everything else and everybody else\u2019s contributions up around it. It was just a \u2018oh ok, this sounds like us\u2019. I feel like it all feels pretty fresh for us too. It doesn\u2019t just sound like an old Alexisonfire song, it sounds more like a new version of us. I feel like that is exciting. We\u2019re older now and we\u2019ve been doing this for a long time. We don\u2019t necessarily want to come back and just do the same thing that we have done before. We wanted to put an exciting twist on it and I think we have done that.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>IT\u2019S ALMOST A CASE OF BEING ABLE TO SHOW ALL THE THINGS YOU HAVE ALL PICKED UP ALONG THE WAY WHILE PLAYING IN OTHER BANDS AND PROJECTS.<\/strong><br \/><em>&#8220;Yeah, very much. I think we have always been an amalgamation of all of the things that we are in to, which is why the music has always sounded like it does. It\u2019s not just the five of us all liking one sort of music and trying to make that sort of music again. It\u2019s always pushing and pulling to get everybody\u2019s influences in there.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>SO WHAT\u2019S THE NEXT STEP FOR THIS? IS THIS A CATALYST TOWARDS AN ALBUM OR IS IT JUST A CASE OF DOING BITS AND PIECES WHEN YOU CAN?<\/strong><br \/><em>&#8220;In having lots of conversations, we always thought about making a whole record but because of everybody\u2019s schedules and other lives it became difficult to find enough time to just be in there and do it. So we kind of just decided that we\u2019re in 2019 and we can kind of do whatever we want. Instead of waiting around to see how long it takes us to make a whole record, let\u2019s just write a song and get it out. We are just going to keep doing that for now. If by the end of the year we end up with a number of songs that could possibly be an album then we will group together and make a nice physical release or something. For me it\u2019s just about keeping this fresh.
