Billy Joel<\/a> performed a pair of Led Zeppelin<\/a> classics with drummer Jason Bonham<\/a> during Joel\u2019s concert Friday at Philadelphia\u2019s Citizens Bank Park.<\/p>\n

With the son of Led Zeppelin\u2019s John Bonham at the drum kit, Billy Joel and his band first launched into \u201cWhole Lotta Love,\u201d featuring vocals by Joel\u2019s guitarist Mike DelGuidice and a lengthy drum solo by Bonham. Joel then handled lead on \u201cGood Times Bad Times.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joel has frequently performed entire or portions of Led Zeppelin songs during his concerts; the band\u2019s \u201cRock and Roll\u201d is routinely teased during his concert\u2019s steady encore \u201cYou May Be Right.\u201d<\/p>\n

Perhaps in response to Joel\u2019s recent Rolling Stone<\/em> interview<\/a> where he badmouthed his own song \u201cCaptain Jack\u201d \u2013 \u201cHe didn\u2019t age well. Captain Jack\u2019s been demoted to Private Jack,\u201d he said \u2013 Joel also (reluctantly?) performed that 1973 hit for the first time in two years.<\/p>\n

The song has become a staple of Joel\u2019s concerts in Philadelphia, having played it at four straight shows in the City of Brotherly Love. \u201cWhen I\u2019m doing the song, I feel kinda dreary and I don\u2019t like doing the song anymore, although we\u2019ll probably do it again,\u201d Joel told Rolling Stone<\/em> earlier this month.<\/p>\n
