Cole.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Director Olivia Rose recruited real-life couples, friends and siblings for the clip, which follows them as they laugh, kiss and embrace. Ty and Cole also appear, singing and rapping, respectively, against stark backdrops.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The intimacy of the visual fits with the duo\u2019s sensitive lyrics \u2014 including Cole\u2019s verse focused on romantic commitment. \u201cWhen we turn like 50, I\u2019m still gonna have all of your messages saved\/Purple emojis with horns on it \u2014 like the devil, but ain\u2019t nothin\u2019 devilish, babe,\u201d he rhymes over a smooth bassline and snapping drums. \u201cIn fact, it\u2019s a Heaven-sent thing\/Black angel with the regular name.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In a statement about the video, Rose said she connected with the song, particularly its \u201cvulnerability,\u201d on an \u201cauthentic level.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI wanted to stay true to the lyrics and create a video that showed real couples, real friends, real siblings and the tiniest of actions of intimacy they share,\u201d she said. \u201cI think the outcome is a video that can resonate with all people from all walks of life and is representative of the full spectrum of love.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cPurple Emoji\u201d is the first single from Ty Dolla $ign\u2019s upcoming third solo LP, which follows 2017\u2019s <em>Beach House 3<\/em> and his 2018 collaborative record with Jeremih, <em>MihTy<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/ty-dolla-sign-j-cole-purple-emoji-video-841323\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: Rolling Stone<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ty Dolla $ign issued a tender new video for \u201cPurple Emoji,\u201d his recent single featuring J.
