Mark Ronson<\/a> enlisted Camila Cabello<\/a> for his yearning new song \u201cFind U Again.\u201d The duo co-wrote the synth-pop track with Tame Impala mastermind Kevin Parker<\/a> and singer-songwriter Isley Juber (Shawn Mendes\u2019 \u201cMercy\u201d); Ronson and Parker co-produced.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cabello fronts the sleek single, crooning over twinkling keys and spongey synth-bass. \u201cWalk in the late night\/Looking for your eyes\/Put up a fight to find you\/Lose it every time,\u201d she sings. Later, she pleads, \u201cHave mercy on me, please\/I messed up to the third degree\/This crush is kind of crushing me\/I do therapy at least twice a week.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Ronson spoke to Beats 1 host Zane Lowe<\/a> about the high-profile collaboration, which appears on his upcoming fifth solo LP, Late Night Feelings<\/em>, out June 21st, along with the title-track<\/a> (featuring Lykke Li), \u201cDon\u2019t Leave Me Lonely\u201d<\/a> (with Yebba) and \u201cNothing Breaks Like a Heart\u201d<\/a> (with Miley Cyrus). Other guests include Angel Olsen, Alicia Keys and King Princess.<\/span><\/p>\n

The producer explained that \u201cFind U Again\u201d originated from Parker\u2019s vocal melody, which \u201cclung to [Ronson]\u201d for a couple years until he could find the right singer.<\/span> \u201cWhen you\u2019re trying to write lyrics to a pre-existing melody, it is very challenging, and \u2026 [Cabello] just nailed it,\u201d he said. \u201cShe cracked the code.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was thinking the person that has to sing this song, it has to have such a combination of different things because it\u2019s almost like this laser, the way the voice cuts through,\u201d he continued. \u201cVery few people have that. Rihanna has that. I think I was literally driving on the radio and either \u2018Havana,\u2019 \u2018Consequences,\u2019 I can\u2019t remember. Something came on and I was just like, \u2018Oh my god, that\u2019s the voice.\u2019 You know? And then I wrote her a text and explained what the record was about and she loved the whole concept, the heartbreak and the crying-dancing-singing thing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
