Diplo<\/a>, Herve Pagez and Charli XCX<\/a> teamed up for a new track, \u201cSpicy,\u201d which reworks Spice Girls<\/a>\u2019 1996 classic \u201cWannabe.\u201d The trio also dropped a futuristic music video for the song, directed by Reed + Rader, which features magical flying dolphins. The buoyant pop song replaces the signature chorus with a synth remix that swaps out vocals for distorted sounds, giving the track a dance-heavy reinterpretation.<\/p>\n

Charli XCX\u2019s most recent album, Pop 2<\/em>, came out in 2017 and she\u2019s recently dropped several collaborative tracks, including \u201c1999\u201d with Troye Sivan and \u201cBlame It On Your Love\u201d with Lizzo. The music video for \u201c1999\u201d includes a tribute to the Spice Girls and XCX told Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> that she\u2019s been a serious fan of the girl group for years. \u201cI don\u2019t even remember the first time [I saw Spice World<\/em>],\u201d she said. \u201cI literally watched that movie over and over and over again for three years solid! My favorite scene is the alien scene [when the Spice Girls] go to pee in the bushes, off the tour bus. They get lost in the woods and \u2026 these aliens [get] beamed down from a spaceship and one of them touches Geri [Halliwell]\u2019s boob.\u201d<\/p>\n

Diplo\u2019s latest effort is LSD, a collaborative project<\/a> with Sia and Labrinth, which dropped Welcome to the Wonderful World of LSD<\/em> earlier this year.<\/p>\n
