Portions of the proceeds from both singles will benefit the ACLU.<\/p>\n<p>Glossed in delicate synth-y vocals, the cover gives the 1985 New Wave hit a dream-pop makeover. \u201cSomething happens and I\u2019m head over heels,\u201d she sings gently. \u201cAh, don\u2019t take my heart, don\u2019t break my heart\/Don\u2019t, don\u2019t, don\u2019t throw it away.\u201d Tears for Fears have been covered countless times\u2014including Gary Jules\u2019 austere cover of \u201cMad World\u201d famously used in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=EGzlk2ytCKQ\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Gears of War<\/em><\/a> commercial \u2014 but never has it felt so illuminating.<\/p>\n<p>Zauner released her sophmore album, <em>Soft Sounds from Another Planet<\/em>, in 2017. She\u2019s currently on tour throughout the fall, making a stop at Central Park\u2019s SummerStage with Hatchie on June 24th. She\u2019ll wrap up with back-to-back shows at San Diego\u2019s Wonderfront Music &amp; Arts Festival on November 23rd and 24th.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI felt so alone doing what I do for a really long time,\u201d Zauner told<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/japanese-breakfast-on-cosmic-new-album-lifelong-search-for-community-202799\/\"><em>&nbsp;Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> in 2017. \u201cNow there\u2019s this really fucking awesome community of women who I can relate to.
