Production duo Christian Rich assemble a super team with Jaden Smith<\/a>, Vic Mensa<\/a> and Belly for their new song \u201cShibuya (Ghost II).\u201d<\/p>\n

The track follows Smith and Christian Rich\u2019s 2018 collaboration, \u201cGhost,\u201d<\/a> and the new version boasts the same menacing mix of trap drums and eerie synths. As the duo explained in a statement, they sent the \u201cGhost\u201d beat to Smith, Vic Mensa and Belly, expecting each MC to return one verse, but Smith liked the song so much, he sent back three, allowing Christian Rich to spin it into its own song.<\/p>\n

\u201cShibuya\u201d recycles Smith\u2019s second verse from the original \u201cGhost,\u201d while Vic Mensa and Belly flesh out the song with potent performances of their own. The new track also arrives with an anime-inspired music video \u2014 set in the Shibuya district of Tokyo \u2014 that captures the song\u2019s super team vibe.<\/p>\n

\u201cDelivering songs with superstars all on one song, we see them like combining the Avengers,\u201d Christian Rich said in a statement. \u201cVisually we created a short film concept to bring a new look to contemporary music but with nostalgic elements that connect the viewer to forgotten childhood adventures. We wanted to touch on the cartoons we watched as kids in Nigeria \u2014 G-Force<\/em>, He-Man<\/em>, stuff that\u2019s nostalgic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Over the past few years, Christian Rich \u2014 which comprises twin brothers Kehinde and Taiwo Hassan \u2014 has contributed to projects from top rappers like Childish Gambino, Earl Sweatshirt, Vince Staples and Drake.<\/p>\n

As for Smith, the rapper\/actor released a new three-track project, Erys Is Coming<\/em>, in April, which followed his two 2018 releases Syre: the Electric Album<\/em> and The Sunset Tapes<\/em>. He\u2019s set to serve as support on select dates of Tyler, the Creator\u2019s upcoming Igor<\/em> tour<\/a>, starting September 2nd in Minneapolis, Minnesota.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Vic Mensa recently released a cover<\/a> of the Cranberries\u2019 \u201cZombies\u201d with his new band 93PUNX, while his debut album as a solo artist, The Autobiography<\/em>, arrived in 2017. And Belly released his most recent LP, Immigrant<\/em>, in 2018.<\/p>\n
