Laura Jane Grace<\/a> and the Devouring Mothers have shared their new animated video for \u201cThe Hotel Song,\u201d an ode to temporary lodging from the band\u2019s recent LP Bought to Rot<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018The Hotel Song\u2019 is my tribute to hotel and motel rooms across the world,\u201d Grace said in a statement. \u201cRegardless of bed sheet thread count, shampoo and conditioner quality, or Wi-Fi speed, I am thankful to all the rented rooms that have offered me refugee & rest over the years while touring across the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

As the song\u2019s title suggests, the Margherita Ballarin-directed visual takes place in a dimly lit hotel room as an insomniac spends the night watching static noise on a television and scrolling her smartphone. The video\u2019s climax arrives when a tidal wave of water emerges suddenly to inundate the entire room.<\/p>\n

Grace previously shared the Wayne\u2019s World<\/em>-inspired \u201cI Hate Chicago<\/a>\u201d and \u201cApocalypse Now<\/a>\u201d from Bought to Rot<\/em>, the Against Me! singer\u2019s first LP with the Devouring Mothers.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy approach musically to the record was that I wanted it to feel like a mixtape,\u201d Grace told Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> of the LP in 2018. \u201cLike OK, you\u2019ve got this Nirvana-like song, you\u2019ve got a Cure song. It was musically freeing, in that way, to just be playing whatever was coming to me as I was writing and not having to think about it.\u201d<\/p>\n
