A 30-year-old Aspen man died Tuesday morning after apparently losing control of his motorcycle on Highway 82, sources said.<\/p>\n

Emergency dispatchers received a call at 1:17 a.m. about a motorcycle with the light on in the upvalley lanes just before the Emma Schoolhouse, Roaring Fork Fire Rescue Chief Scott Thompson said Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

When a crew arrived, they found the man near the bike path where he\u2019d been thrown, he said. <\/p>\n

The man was dead and crews turned the scene over to the Colorado State Patrol, Thompson said. He did not know any other details, including whether the man was wearing a helmet.<\/p>\n

CSP Trooper Josh Lewis said early Tuesday that details of the incident were not immediately available, though he identified the man as a 30-year-old Aspen resident.<\/p>\n

Messages left for the officials with the Pitkin County Coroner\u2019s Office were not immediately returned Tuesday morning. The victim\u2019s identity will be released by the Coroner\u2019s Office pending notification of the family.<\/p>\n
