Slipknot<\/strong>‘s very own music festival Knotfest might be heading to Europe – the band have been approached to make it happen.<\/p>\n

Knotfest is into it’s seventh year this year – and until this month it’s remained entirely outside of Europe. They’re kicking off the inaugural European event on June 20 in France – but it looks like it might be making a return to Europe on a larger scale.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Music Week<\/a>, Slipknot’s manager shared about Knotfest \u201cThe first one is in Clisson, France, the day before Hellfest starts… You buy a separate ticket to Knotfest and a separate ticket to Hellfest. We\u2019re at 40,000 tickets, and it\u2019ll sell out. Now we\u2019re getting approached about doing Knotfest in Germany, Switzerland, and throughout Europe.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

He continued, discussing where the first Knotfest came from \u201cKnotfest started out of necessity and opportunity, chiefly a need in North America. There was Rock On The Range, but there weren\u2019t any other heavy music destinations out there. They were all being hipster. There was nothing for rock bands in many parts of the U.S.. We went into areas where there was no competition, where no-one was thinking about the fans there, and we did it. The first one was in Omaha, Nebraska, the second one was in Wisconsin \u2013 they were back to back and it was amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Slipknot are set to make their return to the UK this weekend as the Saturday headliners of Download Festival.<\/p>\n
