Megadeth<\/a> frontman Dave Mustaine<\/a> revealed Monday that he has been diagnosed with throat cancer. Due to the diagnosis, Megadeth will cancel most of their upcoming 2019 concert.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been diagnosed with throat cancer. It\u2019s clearly something to be respected and faced head on \u2013 but I\u2019ve faced obstacles before. I\u2019m working closely with my doctors, and we\u2019ve mapped out a treatment plan which they feel has a 90% success rate. Treatment has already begun,\u201d Mustaine announced in an Instagram post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While the heavy metal act\u2019s upcoming trek will largely be canceled as Mustaine undergoes treatment \u2013 check out Megadeth\u2019s tour page for updates \u2013 the recently announced Megacruise<\/a> from October 13th to 19th would still depart as scheduled, \u201cand the band will be a part of it in some form,\u201d Mustaine wrote.<\/p>\n

Megadeth will also continue working in the studio on their follow-up album to 2016\u2019s Euphoria<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so thankful for my whole team \u2013 family, doctors, band members, trainers, and more,\u201d Mustaine added. \u201cI\u2019ll keep everyone posted.\u201d<\/p>\n
