Spoon<\/a> have released a new single \u201cNo Bullets Spent,\u201d a recently recorded track that will feature on the indie rockers\u2019 upcoming best-of collection Everything Hits at Once: The Best of Spoon<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The 13-song collection, due out July 26th and available to preorder<\/a> now, features favorites like \u201cI Turn My Camera On,\u201d \u201cGot Nuffin,\u201d \u201cThe Underdog,\u201d \u201cYou Got Yr Cherry Bomb\u201d and more alongside \u201cNo Bullets Spent,\u201d which the band recorded during sessions for what could become their follow-up to 2017\u2019s Hot Thoughts<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe idea of doing a best-of came to us a couple times,\u201d singer Britt Daniel said in a statement. \u201cFirst I wasn\u2019t sure how I felt about it but at some point I remembered that when I got my first Cure record it was Standing on a Beach<\/em>. When I got my first New Order record, it was Substance<\/em>. That was how I met those bands, and I moved backwards from there but I still listen to those comps. I love a greatest hits LP when it\u2019s done well. It can be a thing unto itself.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe master returns, there\u2019s always some kind of war \/ And counting his steps you know it\u2019s him at the door \/You picture yourself a star in the furthest sky \/ Escape from the mess, it\u2019s gone when you close your eyes,\u201d Daniel sings on the track. \u201cWhat we need now\u2019s an accident \/ No one to blame and no bullets spent.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to it appearance on Everything Hits at Once<\/em>, \u201cNo Bullets Spent\u201d will also appear on the A-side of a limited edition 7\u2033<\/a> backed by A Series of Sneaks<\/em>-era track \u201cShake It Off.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spoon will spend the summer as special guest<\/a> on Beck and Cage the Elephant\u2019s The Night Running Tour.<\/p>\n
