Lewis Capaldi<\/a> is no casual Billie Eilish<\/a> fan. The Scottish singer-songwriter likened her sound to \u201cbeing punched in the face in the best fucking way possible \u2026 Like being assaulted by a big marshmallow man!\u201d<\/p>\n

Capaldi first heard \u201cWhen the Party\u2019s Over\u201d<\/a> when it was released on Spotify<\/a> last fall (or, of course, during the dramatic Riverdale<\/a> Season Three finale). \u201cThe harmonies in it and all the fucking layered vocals and stuff just blew me away,\u201d Capaldi says. \u201cI just think it\u2019s fucking incredible.\u201d He recalls how stunned he was when he found out she was only a teenager. \u201cThe thing is, I\u2019m not old,\u201d Capaldi says. \u201cI\u2019m very young. But it\u2019s just annoying to see people even younger with just exceeding amounts of talent. It\u2019s fucking mental.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf people ask me what my music sounds like, I usually say, \u2018Imagine a girl but she\u2019s a guy, and a lot less talented,’\u201d Capaldi joked. He first performed on stage at a cabaret when he was four-years-old. \u201cI went onstage and asked if I could sing \u2018We Will Rock You\u2019 by Queen,\u201d he says. \u201cEven at that age, there was just something about it that I realized that I liked playing in front of people. I was showing off. I was basically a little prick.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
