The soundtrack from their documentary of the same name will be released on June 28th via Sub Pop.<\/p>\n<p>In February, the band released the T.G. Herrington and Danny Clinch-directed <em>A Tuba to Cuba<\/em> documentary, which chronicled the group\u2019s visit to Cuba. It followed band leader Ben Jaffe as he worked to retrace the connection of New Orleans jazz to indigenous Cuban music, which was a dream of his late father, Preservation Hall founder Allan Jaffe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe went to Cuba in prayer position,\u201d Jaffe said in a statement about the group\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/how-preservation-hall-jazz-band-found-their-new-sound-in-cuba-129571\/\">pilgrimage to Cuba<\/a> in December 2015. \u201cWe went to receive an offer at the same time. We had never experienced a moment like this, it felt as though all roads were intersecting at once.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He described the songs from <em>Tuba to Cuba<\/em> to be like \u201clistening to the radio\u201d and as \u201ca beautiful conversation.\u201d The sentiment is indicative of their latest lively single, \u201cKeep Your Head Up,\u201d which captures the spirit of the music\u2019s roots and how the transmissions between two places thousands of miles apart share common ground.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are so proud and honored to share a project we\u2019ve poured so much of ourselves into,\u201d Jaffe added. \u201cThe impact visiting Cuba had on us will live with us both individually and as a band forever. We\u2019re still absorbing everything we experienced.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 12-song soundtrack is <a href=\"https:\/\/megamart.subpop.com\/releases\/preservation_hall_jazz_band\/a_tuba_to_cuba\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">available for pre-order<\/a>. This summer, Preservation Hall Jazz Band will tour in support of <em>A Tuba for Cuba.<\/em> They recently announced additional <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/preservation-hall-jazz-band-north-american-tour-dates-846812\/\">North American tour dates<\/a> beginning in the fall.
