But as he recalls in the latest installment of <em>Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2019s \u201cThe First Time,\u201d it was his mom\u2019s meddling co-worker who eventually pulled the rug out from underneath him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cHe asked my mom what my rap name was, or something, and my mom knew my rap my name, but she\u2019d never heard none of my music before \u2014 this is before I had any type of Soundcloud following, any of that,\u201d Juice WRLD says. \u201cThe next day, he walked back up to her and was like, \u2018You might want to listen to this.\u2019 \u2026 And then she listened to it and texted me and was like, \u2018Yeah I just heard all y\u2019all music.\u2019 Obviously, she wasn\u2019t rocking with it, but she ain\u2019t got no choice but to rock with it now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Elsewhere in the video, Juice WRLD talks about learning to rap and freestyle when he couldn\u2019t remember the lyrics to other songs, writing his first track in fifth grade during study hall (\u201cI couldn\u2019t just sit there and do my work, so I did something else\u201d) and how a Twitter conversation with Future led to their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/future-and-juice-wrld-wrld-on-drugs-album-announcement-738975\/\">2018 collaboration <em>Wrld on Drugs<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Juice WRLD also looks back at his first adolescent heartbreak with a bit of humor \u2014 \u201cI look back now and I\u2019m like, \u2018Wow that was not a serious situation, bro\u2019\u201d \u2014 and discusses music as a form of therapy. \u201cJust listening to it was therapy, an escape from everything,\u201d he says. \u201cI always used to get lost in music. For some people, music just comes natural to them to do it, they love to listen to it \u2014 I\u2019m one of those people.
