For one day this spring, Charles Holmes and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/valee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Valee<\/a> traveled through Central Park in search of the feathered zeitgeist of the moment, the bird The Cut called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecut.com\/2018\/10\/beautiful-central-park-mandarin-duck.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">\u201cNew York\u2019s Most Eligible Bachelor\u201d<\/a> and <em>The New York Times<\/em> dubbed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/12\/03\/nyregion\/hot-duck-mandarin-central-park.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">\u201cHot.\u201d<\/a> Decked in the finest vests and bearing binoculars, the two friends searched for the elusive Mandarin Duck.
