Ellie Goulding<\/a> and Juice WRLD<\/a> unite on \u201cHate Me,\u201d a breezy new song with a sadomasochistic streak. \u201cHate me, hate me\/Tell me how you hate me\/Tell me how I\u2019m trash and you can easily replace me,\u201d the latter croons over smooth programmed drums and a palm-muted guitar figure. \u201cTell me that I\u2019m strung out, wasted on the daily\/Prolly \u2019cause there\u2019s no one around me numbin\u2019 all my pain.\u201d<\/p>\n

Throughout, Goulding confronts an ex over romantic regret and paranoia. \u201cI bet you don\u2019t kiss her with your eyes closed\/I bet you\u2019re still walkin\u2019 on a tightrope,\u201d she sings. \u201cMiss me so much, you\u2019ve been goin\u2019 psycho\/You ain\u2019t gotta say it, baby \u2013\u2013 I know.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pop singer hyped the song\u2019s \u201ctongue-in-cheek\u201d quality in a statement, admitting, \u201cIt\u2019s definitely lyrically different to most of my other songs, but it\u2019s fun to play around a bit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Goulding, who previously released videos for her songs \u201cSixteen\u201d<\/a> and \u201cFlux,\u201d<\/a> recently performed<\/a> on Good Morning America<\/em>\u2018s Summer Concert Series and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert<\/em><\/a>. Juice WRLD\u2019s March-issued second album, Death Race for Love<\/em><\/a>, debuted at Number One on the Billboard 200; he promoted the record with a video for \u201cHear Me Calling\u201d<\/a> and sat down with Rolling Stone<\/em> in early June for an installment of our \u201cFirst Time\u201d<\/a> series.<\/p>\n
