Sections-ATW-ATW_Body_Serif\">June acted a bit like March is meant to, coming in like a lion (with snowy peaks and bonus ski weekends on Aspen Mountain), acting a bit like a lamb (with temperatures averaging in the 70s), then rolling back out like a lion (with a hail and lighting storm in Aspen on the last day of the month).<\/p>\n<p class=\"Special Sections-ATW-ATW_Body_Serif\">Among the social highlights over the past few weeks were birthday parties for guests of honor ranging from age 1 to 50.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Special Sections-ATW-ATW_Body_Serif\">Rowland+Broughton Architecture \/ Urban Design \/ Interior Design hosted an open house June 20 at their new Aspen studio and firm headquarters on Main Street. Their Aspen and Denver-based team welcomed the community to the restored Mesa Store Building building, which just received a Historic Preservation Award from the Aspen Historic Preservation Commission. The lively reception took place throughout the three-story building, spilling outside under the covered entrance and adjacent garden, previously a parking area, which now features new landscaping and seating areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Special Sections-ATW-ATW_Body_Serif\">Over the weekend of June 20 through 23, Jazz Aspen Snowmass (JAS) presented a reimagined June Experience with a major shift in its format. In lieu of presenting a few select artists at the Benedict Music Tent, JAS opened up the entire town in bringing a wider range of talent and genres to multiple intimate venues.
