Stevie Wonder<\/a> revealed during his London concert Saturday that he would undergo kidney surgery in September.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo what\u2019s gonna happen is this, I\u2019m going to have surgery, I\u2019m going to have a kidney transplant in September of this year. I\u2019m all good, I\u2019m all good, I\u2019m all good. I have a donor, it\u2019s all good,\u201d Wonder told the Hyde Park audience.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want you to know I came here to give you my love and to thank you for your love. You ain\u2019t gotta hear no rumors about nothing, I told you what\u2019s up. I\u2019m good. Alright?\u201d<\/p>\n

Wonder\u2019s comments follow a Detroit Free Press<\/em> report<\/a> last week that said the singer was \u201cbattling a serious but manageable health issue\u201d; prior to that, in late June, a YouTube video<\/a> claimed that Wonder was suffering from kidney failure. Rumors continued to swirl after Wonder bowed out of his appearance at Detroit\u2019s Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame ceremony.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s got some health challenges, but he doesn\u2019t want a big PR thing out of this,\u201d Wonder\u2019s friend and musician Joan Belgrave told the Detroit Free Press<\/em>. \u201cHe\u2019s in great spirits. You would never know anything is going on. That\u2019s how he wants it, and that\u2019s how he wants to keep it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the impending surgery, Wonder still plans on completing his U.K. tour, which continues July 9th in Dublin.<\/p>\n
