You were also the one with the stutter?\u201d \u201cNo,\u201d Vedder replied. \u201cI\u2019m still the punk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vedder has always cited <em>Quadrophenia<\/em> as one of his favorite albums and he\u2019s joined the Who to perform songs from it many times. \u201cIt saved my life,\u201d Vedder once said. \u201cIt was something I could catch, because for some reason it seemed like I could not relate to anyone in the world. Roger Daltrey was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/the-who-plot-symphonic-u-s-arena-tour-new-studio-album-for-2019-777375\/\">initially unsure about the songs,<\/a> but he\u2019s since come around to it in a big way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI took the songs away and I listened to them, and listened to them some more, and I had some ideas,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/roger-daltrey-new-who-album\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Daltrey recently said.<\/a> \u201c[Pete] let me have a bit of freedom with changing a few things, changing the tenses of songs and other little things. And he gave me complete melodic freedom. And I gotta tell you that after being very skeptical I\u2019m now incredibly optimistic. think we\u2019ve made our best album since <em>Quadrophenia<\/em>.
