Wilco<\/a> dropped \u201cLove is Everywhere,\u201d a new track off its eleventh LP, Ode to Joy<\/em>, out October 4th via dBpm Records.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo tangled in the wild\/Seeing myself as something more mean,\u201d frontman Jeff Tweedy<\/a> sings over soothing, subtle guitar. \u201cSadness wants me\/Further away from the scene.\u201d An optimistic track for our dreary political climate, the chorus acts as a silver lining: \u201cRight now, love is everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere MUST be more love than hate. Right?!\u201d Tweedy said in a statement. \u201cI\u2019m not always positive we can be so sure. In any case, I\u2019m starting to feel like being confident in that equation isn\u2019t always the best motivation for me to be my best self \u2014 it can kind of let me off the hook a little bit when I think I should be striving to contribute more love outside of my comfortable sphere of family and friends. So\u2026I guess the song is sort of a warning to myself that YES, Love IS EVERYWHERE, but also BEWARE! I can\u2019t let that feeling absolve me of my duty to create more.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ode to Joy<\/em>, a follow-up to 2016\u2019s Schmilco<\/em>, is the band\u2019s eleventh LP. It also marks a return from the band\u2019s year-hiatus, during which Tweedy released two solo albums and a memoir. An album that features the collaborative efforts of Tweedy and drummer Glenn Kotche, Tweedy has described Ode to Joy<\/em> as \u201creally big, big folk songs, these monolithic, brutal structures that these delicate feelings are hung on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Starting on October 8th, the band will embark on an extensive fall North American tour<\/a>. After it wraps on November 20th at Omaha\u2019s Orpheum Theater, they\u2019ll play their own Sky Blue Sky Festival<\/a> in January. Ode to Joy<\/em> is available for pre-order here.<\/a><\/p>\n
