After grabbing a cab ride in a hearse, the woman meets with the psychic, who conjures a chaotic montage of scenes that make the most of the video\u2019s late-Sixties aesthetic, which fuses flower power with the terror of a bad trip.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cDirecting for the all mighty Pixies is quite an honor, and I was given complete artistic freedom to do what I wished,\u201d said Arens. \u201cThe freedom to do so makes sense as to why they are such an original, real deal band. I started my career in music creating rock art so it\u2019s perfect for this psychedelic freak-out video release.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em>Beneath the Eyrie<\/em> follows the Pixies\u2019 2016 album <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/review-pixies-head-carrier-features-new-bassist-old-sound-129516\/\"><em>Head Carrier<\/em><\/a>. Keeping with the themes of \u201cOn Graveyard Hill,\u201d the whole LP will feature songs dealing with \u201cwitches, Daniel Boone, misfits\u201d and other haunted topics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Along with the album, the Pixies also launched a 12-episode podcast, <em>It\u2019s a Pixies Podcast<\/em>, in June. Hosted by British music journalist Tony Fletcher, each episode offers a deep dive into the songwriting, recording and production for every song on <em>Beneath the Eyrie<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Pixies will play the Cure\u2019s Daydream Festival in Pasadena, California August 13th, after which they\u2019ll embark on a tour of the U.K. and Europe.
