Natalie Mering, brought her chic white suit and Seventies Nilsson-style piano chords to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/late-night-with-seth-meyers\/\" id=\"auto-tag_late-night-with-seth-meyers\" data-tag=\"late-night-with-seth-meyers\">Late Night with Seth Meyers<\/a><\/em> Tuesday with a performance of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/weyes-blood-titanic-rising-everyday-819426\/\">\u201cEveryday.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI see you everyday\/But that\u2019s not enough,\u201d Mering professes, before singing her signature line: \u201cTrue love is making a comeback.\u201d She sways back and forth, her backing band supplying groovy instrumentation <span>until the final moments, when the rhythm escalates as Mering hits the high notes to immense applause.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2019Everyday\u2019 is about Tinder and online dating, and the idea of going through people really fast, like a slasher film or something,\u201d Mering told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/weyes-blood-album-titanic-rising-843084\/\"><em>Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> last month. \u201cIt\u2019s modern love, we need love everyday. So I think that people constantly are settling for something that doesn\u2019t fit their absolute ideal, and, luckily for them, their ideal is so blown out of proportion they can just keep on like that forever. I find a lot of people are stuck in that zone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mering <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/weyes-blood-us-tour-titanic-rising-837961\/\">resumes her tour<\/a> in support of <em>Titanic Rising<\/em> on August 7th. The \u201cSomething to Believe\u201d leg will hit major festivals and theaters across the U.S., including a handful of September dates opening for Kacey Musgraves.
