At 85, the blues singer writes about the world in a rural American vernacular that has all but disappeared.&nbsp;<\/span><span>\u201cIf you have a chicken and you\u2019re feeding him, if you take away its food like corn, they squawk,\u201d the \u201cChicken Heads\u201d singer recently told<\/span> <em><span>Rolling Stone<\/span><\/em><span>, speaking about the imagery used in his brand new song \u201cGood Stuff.\u201d \u201cWhen you feed [a hog], you say you\u2019re \u2018sloppin\u2019 a hog\u2019\u2026If you put the trough up on his noise and snatch it away from him, he\u2019ll squeal because he wants it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cGood Stuff\u201d is the latest offering from<\/span> <em><span>Sitting on Top of the Blues<\/span><\/em><span>, Rush\u2019s first release since his Grammy-winning 2016 LP<\/span> <em><span>Porcupine Meat<\/span><\/em><span>. The song, a mid-tempo country blues number that features Rush\u2019s signature harmonica playing, is a meditation on lust and sensuality. As Rush says of the song, \u201cI\u2019m talking about a lady walking down the street.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI like the way you carry yourself girl, you\u2019re so cool,\u201d he sings, \u201cYou\u2019ve got a sweet personality and a smile so bright\/You can make a man do wrong when he won\u2019t do right.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Rush is one of the very last of his generation of bluesmen still making new music and regularly performing. His new album<\/span> <em><span>Sitting on Top of the Blues<\/span><\/em> <span>will be released on August 16th.
