{"id":2446515,"date":"2019-07-19T02:38:50","date_gmt":"2019-07-19T08:38:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=860979"},"modified":"2019-07-19T02:38:50","modified_gmt":"2019-07-19T08:38:50","slug":"watch-spoon-perform-new-track-no-bullets-spent-on-kimmel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kspn\/music-news\/watch-spoon-perform-new-track-no-bullets-spent-on-kimmel\/","title":{"rendered":"Watch Spoon Perform New Track \u2018No Bullets Spent\u2019 on \u2018Kimmel\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Screen-Shot-2019-07-19-at-9.36.01-AM.png\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/spoon\/\" id=\"auto-tag_spoon\" data-tag=\"spoon\">Spoon<\/a> is going all out in celebration of their upcoming best-of release, <em>Everything Hits At Once: The Best Of Spoon,<\/em> which is out July 26th.&nbsp;The rock band appeared on <em>Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/em> to perform new track <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/spoon-new-song-no-bullets-spent-848394\/\">\u201cNo Bullets Spent\u201d<\/a> and also took the opportunity to run through a set of six songs off-air, including \u201cThe Underdog\u201d and \u201cI Turn My Camera On.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The band played on Kimmel\u2019s more intimate indoor stage, set up in front of colorful video screens, with frontman Britt Daniel giving an impassioned performance that evoked the musicians\u2019 live shows.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/E_defB2kA_A?version=3&amp;enablejsapi=1&amp;origin=https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo Bullets Spent\u201d was recorded at Daniel\u2019s Public Hi Fi studio in Austin, TX and produced by Mark Rankin, embracing the band\u2019s signature staccato style. That track joins 12 other track on the best-of release, which celebrates Spoon\u2019s 25 years making music together, and could point to a potential new album.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe idea of doing a best-of came to us a couple times,\u201d Daniel said of <em>Everything Hits At Once<\/em>. \u201cFirst I wasn\u2019t sure how I felt about it but at some point I remembered that when I got my first Cure record it was <em>Standing on a Beach<\/em>. When I got my first New Order&nbsp;record, it was&nbsp;<em>Substance<\/em>. That was how I met those bands, and I moved backwards from there but I still listen to those&nbsp;comps. I love a greatest hits LP when it\u2019s done well.
