The rapper, whose real name is Taymore McIntyre, is looking at five to 99 years in prison for each guilty count.<\/p>\n<p>In July 2016, McIntyre took part in a Mansfield home invasion that left a 21-year-old, Ethan Walker, dead and another, Zachary Beloate, injured. Earlier this week, McIntyre pleaded guilty to the two aggravated robbery charges, but not the capital murder charge. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t part of the plan. The plan was robbery. Not killing,\u201d Jeff Kearney, one of McIntyre\u2019s defense attorneys told the jury, via <em>Fort Worth Star-Telegram<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>McIntyre went viral after he released the video for \u201cThe Race,\u201d a song partially inspired by a real life event, in June 2017. After cutting off his ankle bracelet, McIntyre fled house arrest ahead of a court hearing for his part in the 2016 home invasion. \u201cFu-fu-fuck a beat, I was tryna beat a case \/ But I ain\u2019t beat that case, bitch, I did the race,\u201d he raps on the infamous song. He was subsequently arrested in New Jersey by U.S. marshals the same day of the video\u2019s premiere. The resulting media storm surrounding Tay-K helped the song peak at number 44 on the <em>Billboard<\/em> Hot 100, led to a signing with RCA\u2019s 88 Classic, and support from the larger <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/hip-hop\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hip-hop\" data-tag=\"hip-hop\">hip-hop<\/a> community.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OYhXJaEbw7c?version=3&amp;enablejsapi=1&amp;origin=https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>While on the run, McIntyre allegedly shot and killed Mark Anthony Saldivar, a 23-year-old photographer in San Antonio, reports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.star-telegram.com\/news\/local\/community\/mansfield-news-mirror\/article213520234.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">F<em>ort Worth Star-Telegram<\/em><\/a>.
