Taylor Swift<\/a>, Ariana Grande<\/a>, Billie Eilish<\/a> and Lil Nas X<\/a> lead the nominees for the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards<\/a>. The ceremony will air live from New Jersey\u2019s Prudential Center on Monday, August 26th at 8:00 p.m. ET\/PT.<\/p>\n

Grande and Swift tied for the most nominations with 10 each. Swift\u2019s \u201cME!\u201d<\/a> featuring Panic! At the Disco\u2019s Brendon Urie was nominated for Best Collaboration, while the song\u2019s video received nods for Best Visual Effects and Best Cinematography. The pop star\u2019s vibrant LGBT-themed hit \u201cYou Need to Calm Down\u201d<\/a> received seven nominations: Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop, Video for Good, Best Direction, Best Editing and Best Art Direction.<\/p>\n

Grande\u2019s \u201cThank U, Next\u201d swept up four nominations: Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop and Best Cinematography. Grande was also tapped for Artist of the Year and earned nominations for Best Hip Hop (\u201cRule the World\u201d featuring 2 Chainz), Best Visual Effects (\u201cGod is a Woman\u201d) and Best Editing and Best Art Direction (\u201c7 Rings\u201d).<\/p>\n

First-time nominee Billie Eilish followed with nine nods, including Push Artist of the Year, Best Pop, Best Direction and Best Editing (\u201cBad Guy\u201d), Best Visual Effects (\u201cWhen the Party\u2019s Over\u201d) and Best Cinematography (\u201cHostage\u201d). Lil Nas X\u2019s \u201cOld Town Road (Remix)\u201d featuring Billy Ray Cyrus was nominated for Song of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Hip Hop, Best Direction, Best Editing and Best Art Direction. Both Eilish and Lil Nas X were also nominated for Best New Artist.<\/p>\n

Halsey<\/a> followed with six nods, including Artist of the Year, Video for Good (\u201cNightmare\u201d), Best Collaboration, Best Art Direction, Best Choreography and Best K-Pop (\u201cBoys with Luv\u201d featuring BTS). Shawn Mendes<\/a> received five nominations, including Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Art Direction, Best Choreography and Best Cinematography (\u201cSe\u00f1orita\u201d with Camila Cabello<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Cabello took home Artist of the Year and Video of the Year for \u201cHavana\u201d at the 2018 VMAs ceremony<\/a>. The night closed with Aerosmith, 21 Savage and Post Malone singing \u201cToys in the Attic.\u201d <\/a><\/p>\n
