Kanye West<\/a>\u2019s choir put an uplifting, Christian spin on two Nirvana<\/a> songs, \u201cCome As You Are\u201d and \u201cSmells Like Teen Spirit,\u201d at the rapper\u2019s most recent Sunday Service performance.<\/p>\n

In a video, the choir stands in a circle and sings the Nevermind <\/em>tracks while decked out in white. \u201cJust confess\/ he\u2019ll do the rest\/ Christ is here,\u201d they sing to the tune of \u201cCome As You Are.\u201d Later, they replace \u201cmemoria\u201d with \u201challelujah,\u201d chanting it over and over. They do the same for the \u201chello hello hello, how low\u201d refrain from \u201cSmells Like Teen Spirit,\u201d while also changing the chorus to \u201cLet your light shine, it\u2019s contagious!\u201d<\/p>\n

West is a notable Nirvana fan, having previously been spotted wearing band merchandise. Courtney Love, who attended one of West\u2019s Sunday Services earlier this summer, gave West and Kid Cudi permission to sample Cobain\u2019s Montage of Heck<\/em> demo \u201cBurn the Rain\u201d for their song \u201cCudi Montage\u201d last year. \u201cI\u2019m going down as a legend, whether or not you like me or not,\u201d he once famously boasted<\/a> in an interview. \u201cI am the new Jim Morrison. I am the new Kurt Cobain<\/a>. The Bible had 20, 30, 40, 50 characters in it. You don\u2019t think that I would be one of the characters of today\u2019s modern Bible?\u201d<\/p>\n

West launched Sunday service in January, and has since used it to debut songs<\/a> and perform other covers like No Doubt\u2019s \u201cDon\u2019t Speak.\u201d In April, West hosted a special Sunday Service at Coachella<\/a>.<\/p>\n
