Funeral For A Friend<\/strong> have announced a reunion for two special shows – their first (and only) live appearances since their breakup in 2016. <\/p>\n

The shows will be taking place in Cardiff and London, and are raising money for a cause incredibly close to their hearts – supporting the family one of their most dedicated and loyal fans. The reunion shows will also feature the return of guitarist Darran Smith (who left the band in 2010) and drummer\/ vocalist Ryan Richards (who left the band in 2012).<\/p>\n

The shows are set to happen on October 28 at The Globe in Cardiff, and October 29 at Shepherds Bush Empire in London, with tickets available from this coming Wednesday from here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a lengthy statement, Funeral For A Friend have shared the reasoning behind their reunion, and what fans can expect from the two shows. You can read their statement in full below:<\/p>\n

\u201cFFAF Family, <\/em><\/p>\n

When we left the stage on May 21st 2016 at London\u2019s Kentish Town Forum, we all agreed that it was the perfect way to end Funeral For A Friend. We\u2019d toured the UK one last time, playing some of the biggest shows we\u2019d performed in years, in front of our friends and families. It was the perfect ending. Since then, we\u2019ve been asked many times – \u2018do you think you\u2019ll ever come back?\u2019 and the answer has always been a resounding \u2018no\u2019, because there was never any reason to.<\/p>\n

Until now. <\/p>\n

Recently, a man who can quite legitimately lay claim to being the world\u2019s biggest FFAF fan (both literally and figuratively!), our friend Stuart \u2018Big Stu\u2019 Brothers, has been stricken with a terrible illness which has ultimately led to a terminal prognosis. Last month, Stu was given a few short weeks to live by his Doctors.<\/p>\n

As Stu\u2019s friends, we wanted to do something to help; particularly for his family and 3 young sons, who are going through unspeakable trauma right now. We discussed the possibility of auctioning off some FFAF memorabilia (which we\u2019ll still do), but it became apparent that the way in which we could best help Stu was to perform some fundraising shows, with the proceeds going directly to his family. <\/p>\n

So, on October 28th and 29th, at the Cardiff Globe and London O2 Shepherd\u2019s Bush Empire respectively, Funeral for a Friend will be performing two more shows to benefit the Brothers family.<\/p>\n

Being that Stu was an old-school fan right from the very start, we will mainly be performing material from the early part of our career circa 2002-2007. Joining Matt, Kris, Gav and Rich for the shows will be guitarist Darran Smith (who left the band in 2010) and drummer\/vocalist Ryan Richards, who left in 2012. <\/p>\n
