Snoop Dogg<\/a> is leaving the past behind on his new single \u201cLet Bygones Be Bygones.\u201d On the track, which comes off the rapper\u2019s new album I Wanna Thank Me, <\/em>Snoop discusses his reconciliation with Suge Knight<\/a>, his former Death Row label boss.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m cool with Suge, Master P, Dr. Dre, I\u2019m cool with everybody,\u201d Snoop says during the song\u2019s intro. \u201cBut I had to go get that cool with him. I had to go sit down with Suge.\u201d As the mid-tempo track, produced by DJ Battlecat, unfolds, Snoop recounts the \u201cups and the downs,\u201d spitting of Knight, \u201cThis man changed my life\/ We made history together.\u201d<\/p>\n

He adds, \u201cYeah, he did some bullshit\/ I\u2019m admitting that\/ But coming at a real Crip like he ain\u2019t one\/ Especially when he help fucking make one.\u201d The track ultimately honors Knight\u2019s impact on West Coast rap, with Snoop noting, \u201cEspecially when we was down, that n*gga picked n*ggas up.\u201d<\/p>\n

I Wanna Thank Me,<\/em> Snoop\u2019s 17th album, is out August 16th. The release follows the rapper\u2019s 2018\u2019s gospel album, Bible of Love<\/em><\/a>. Snoop has previously shared a few songs off the new album, including \u201cI Wanna Thank Me.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Knight is currently in prison in the RJ Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego. He was sentenced<\/a> to 28 years for manslaughter in last year for the killing of Terry Carter. The rap mogul plead no contest to the hit-and-run death of Carter, which took place in Compton in 2015.<\/p>\n
