Miley Cyrus<\/a> has unveiled a new empowering ballad, \u201cSlide Away.\u201d The track, which addresses the need to walk away from things that aren\u2019t working, coincides with the recent announcement of her separation from her longtime partner and husband Liam Hemsworth.<\/p>\n

Cyrus begins with a fairytale line that quickly indicates that not everything ends happily over swirling, orchestral touches. \u201cOnce upon a time it was paradise\/Once upon a time I was paralyzed,\u201d she sings on the opening verse. \u201cI think I\u2019m gonna miss these harbor lights\/But it\u2019s time to let it go.\u201d Later she adds, \u201cI want my house in the hills\/Don\u2019t want the whiskey and pills\/I don\u2019t give up easily\/But I don\u2019t think I\u2019m down.\u201d The audio clip features a photo of empty medicine and liquor bottles floating amid a sea of pills.<\/p>\n

Last month, Cyrus released the body-positive video for \u201cMother\u2019s Daughter,\u201d featuring cameos from Aaron Philip, Casil McArthur, Lacey Baker, Amazon Ashley and others. She released the EP, She Is Coming,<\/em> at the end of May, which will later be a part of a full collection of songs titled She Is Miley Cyrus<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Along with her EP project, Cyrus collaborated with Mark Ronson this year on \u201cNothing Breaks Like a Heart,\u201d<\/a> off his new album, Late Night Feelings<\/em><\/a>. She also starred in a recent episode of Black Mirror<\/em> as Ashley O, a pop star with the hit song \u201cOn a Roll,\u201d<\/a> which is a Top 40-ready version of of Nine Inch Nails\u2019 \u201cHead Like a Hole.\u201d (Cyrus performed both tracks at her recent set<\/a> at Glastonbury). Cyrus is also set to team with Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey for a new song<\/a> that will appear in the upcoming Charlie\u2019s Angels<\/em> reboot.<\/p>\n
