Third Eye Blind<\/a> just completed a successful summer run, bringing their platinum rock hits (\u201cSemi-Charmed Life,\u201d \u201cHow\u2019s It Going to Be\u201d) to outdoor spaces across the country alongside Jimmy Eat World. This tour felt different for the band members, because they originally thought they would have finished their first album in four years before embarking on the dates. \u201cWe didn\u2019t think we could sustain a tour without new music,\u201d said Third Eye Blind frontman Stephan Jenkins at one recent tour stop. \u201cAnd yet our people have just really shown up. It\u2019s actually one of the bigger tours we\u2019ve ever done. That kind of blows my mind. It definitely gives us confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n

That changes this fall, when the band finally release their seventh Screamer<\/em>, out October 18th<\/sup>. They teamed up with friends like Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells (who sings on the title track<\/a>) and Billy Corgan, who is described as the album\u2019s \u201cmusical consigliere.\u201d \u201cWe have always been so insular,\u201d said Jenkins, \u201cand on Screamer<\/em> we adopted an open door policy \u2013 come in, be musical, and follow the song where it takes us.\u201d<\/p>\n

This fall, the band will be bringing those songs on the road. The group just announced a fall tour album, kicking off November 8th<\/sup> in New Hampshire. \u201cIt\u2019s kind of a mystery to me,\u201d Jenkins recently told Rolling Stone<\/em>, describing the resurgence they\u2019ve seen since 2015\u2019s Dopamine<\/em>. \u201cI look at it as this thing that I take part in with the audience. I think our audience is very young, and they take our music and they make it part of their playlists now. And they make it their present tense. And we really care about playing. It\u2019s not the same every night. We\u2019re not a jam band, but we soundcheck; soundchecks are band practice, and we move things and change them, so it\u2019s evolving. We\u2019re not a MacBook pro band.\u201d<\/p>\n
