The film, which Springsteen co-directed with Thom Zimny, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/bruce-springsteen-western-stars-toronto-film-festival-862320\/\">debuts at the Toronto Film Festival<\/a> in September and rolls out to theaters in October, but you can watch a trailer for it right here.<\/p>\n<p>Springsteen narrates the clip, saying, \u201cIt\u2019s easy to lose yourself or never find yourself. The older you get, the heavier that package becomes that you haven\u2019t sorted through, so you run. I\u2019ve done a lot of that kind of running. I\u2019ve spent 35 years trying to let go of the destructive parts of my character and I still have days where I struggle with it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unknown exactly when Springsteen filmed the concert scenes in the movie, but they take place in a barn that\u2019s nearly 100 years old. \u201cA certain kind of magic took place,\u201d Springsteen says. \u201cThe music began to take on a life of its own.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The trailer also shows Springsteen kissing his wife Patti Scialfa at some point in the mid-1990s. \u201cWe all have our broken pieces,\u201d he says. \u201cEmotionally, spiritually, in this life nobody gets away unhurt. We\u2019re always trying to find someone whose broken pieces fit with our broken pieces and something whole emerges.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Western Stars<\/em> is the first album that Springsteen hasn\u2019t supported with a tour since 1982\u2019s <em>Nebraska.<\/em> \u201cI was looking for a way to get some of the music live to an audience,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/bruce-springsteen-calls-into-e-street-radio-promises-western-stars-concert-film-857487\/\">he told E Street Radio in July<\/a>, \u201cand so we figured that [this movie] was the best way to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Springsteen and Thom Zimny have teamed up in the past for <em>Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band: Live in New York City, Wings for Wheels: The Making of \u2018Born to Run,\u2019 The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town, The Ties That Bind<\/em> along with many other concert films and videos.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/bruce-springsteen-western-stars-film-trailer-873478\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: Rolling Stone<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bruce Springsteen has said virtually nothing in public about his new album Western Stars since it arrived in June, but he\u2019ll break his silence in the upcoming concert film of the same name.
