Frontman Zachary Cole Smith delivers an airy vocal performance over the heavy stomp, slipping in some deft harmonies as well as he confesses, \u201cWho were you to believe?\/Your lying eyes or me?\/I won\u2019t let them tie to you\/The shit I put you through.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cTaker\u201d follows previously released <em>Deceiver<\/em> track, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/diiv-new-song-skin-game-new-album-deceiver-862788\/\">\u201cSkin Game,\u201d<\/a> which was released in July. <em>Deceiver<\/em> is DIIV\u2019s third album and follows their 2016 offering <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/is-the-is-are-192583\/\"><em>Is the Is Are<\/em><\/a> and their 2012 debut <em>Oshin<\/em>. The band recorded the LP in Los Angeles this March, working with an outside producer for the first time in Sonny Diperri, who\u2019s previously worked with My Bloody Valentine and Nine Inch Nails.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">DIIV will embark on a North American <a href=\"https:\/\/diiv.net\/shows\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">tour<\/a> in support of <em>Deceiver<\/em> October 11th with a set at the Desert Daze Festival in Perris, California.
