Acclaimed R&B singer Macy Gray<\/a> finds her center of calm and peace in the video for \u201cBuddha,\u201d premiering exclusively with Rolling Stone<\/em>. The track, which features Gary Clark Jr.<\/a> on guitar, is from her latest album Ruby<\/em>, released in 2018.<\/p>\n

The Teyana Taylor<\/a>-directed video sees Gray performing in her studio while looking back on her storied career, cut together with archival footage.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnderneath the Gary Clark solo, the incredible production by Johan Carlsson, and the Teyana Taylor-directed video is a little story about my battles with mental health,\u201d says Gray. \u201cThough it has held me up and set me back many times, I was able to write this song because I am winning my war with it. And I\u2019m able to celebrate my present and look forward to my future because of it. To everybody struggling with something, it\u2019ll be okay, just don\u2019t let it beat you. Buddha says \u2018concentrate the mind in the present\u2019 \u2013 and that\u2019s where it\u2019s at all the time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Gray has set up a fundraiser toward gun control reform in conjunction with the video release.<\/p>\n

Last year, Gray teamed up with Meghan Trainor<\/a> for the single \u201cSugar Daddy.\u201d<\/a> In 2016 she appeared<\/a> on Ariana Grande\u2019s<\/a> Dangerous Woman<\/em>, singing on the ballad \u201cLeave Me Lonely.\u201d<\/p>\n
